I use the 3 ton bottle jack that I carry in the MH along with 6 2X treated wood planks for blocking. The 3 ton easily lifts any corner for tire changing or whatever. I use heavy duty jack stands when working underneath. I have a heavy duty floor jack in the garage, but I find the bottle jack easier to work with.

RE: 454 temperature gauge is running cool
Before summer we are going to replace the electric cooling fan sensor on the right side because if one one failed and they have all seen the same level of service the electric fan could be kicking on late due to a low temp reading by that sensor.
:)
I bypassed the sensor for the electric fan and installed a switch on the dashboard. I like the idea of turning the fan on when I want it on rather than relying on the sensor.

Gale, the sensor in the LH head operates the temp gauge, the sensor in the RH head operates the auxiliary electric cooling fan and the sensor in the front of the intake manifold provides temp info to the computer.

There are a number of good anti-gel additives on the market, Gunk, Siloo, Pri-Flow, Power Service are a few. When you add the anti-gel, run the engine for at least 20 minutes to ensure that the treated fuel displaces all the untreated fuel in the fuel system.

Don't know if this qualifies but, I had a lifter sticking on my 460 ford gasser. It sounded like the front door on halloween night for about 30 seconds after I started it. I added some Marvels Mystery oil and have not had the knocking since.
Good post. This is a good example of using an additive for a specific problem. If no problem exists, using additives serves no purpose other than a transfer of funds.

Use your seach engine to look up 3M Urethane Windshield Sealant. RTV is not a good sealant for windshields.

I have Monroe Sensatrac shocks on my Wrangler and Cherokee, am very satisfied. Both vehicles have seen moderate use on forest roads and dirt/gravel/sand roads in Baja and have performed very well.

RE: Whining differential on P30, can it be quieted?
If your P30 has a Dana axle, you can change the oil yourself and at the same time inspect the gear lash and carrier bearings. The basic oil change procedure is shown here:
